Mötesplats Campus gathered students and employers in Östersund
On March 12, Mötesplats Campus was arranged at Mid Sweden University in Östersund. Ljushallen was filled with around thirty employers and many students, who took the opportunity to network and talk about internships, degree projects and future job opportunities.
The event is a collaboration between Mid Sweden University, the Student Union in Östersund and Östersund Municipality. The initiative is financed through the collaboration agreement between Mid Sweden University and Östersund Municipality, which aims to strengthen research, development and skills supply in the region.
"Mötesplats Campus shows what can happen when we open doors between students and working life. Here, students get a concrete picture of the opportunities that exist in the region, while employers get the chance to find future skills," says Jenny Hall, development strategist at Östersund municipality.
Mötesplats Campus is arranged regularly at Mid Sweden University in Östersund. During the spring semester, a fair will be held in Ljushallen where students and employers meet, and during the autumn semester, an employer mingle will be arranged with inspirational lectures and networking.
Funding for activities that link academia and working life
As an employee at Campus Östersund, it is possible to apply for collaboration money to arrange more activities that strengthen the contact between students and employers. By supporting these initiatives, we want to:
- Create more meetings between employers and students
- Strengthen the relevance of Mid Sweden University and its programmes through a clear link to working life
- Visibility of potential employers in the region to students
- Engage more employers, including those without a natural connection to the university, to meet students and take part in their skills
- Contribute to more students wanting to stay and work in Jämtland Härjedalen after graduation
