Hello, Lasse!
A media production unit is now set up at Mid Sweden University, which will be able to offer moving image production services. We asked Lasse Gustavsson, who is new as a media producer, to tell us a little more about this.
We are glad you’re starting up media production with us, it’s a long-awaited service. What will we be able to get help with?
— The plan is to be able to offer moving image production, animation, audio and pod recording services on a professional level when everything is ready. Our offer will be equivalent in both Sundsvall and Östersund, based on the conditions that exist. The logistics for ordering services with us are not complete. We are currently looking at different solutions, so we will have to come back when it is done, says Lasse Gustavsson.
What happens now to start the unit?
— We will start this spring with a pilot project in which we are building a recording room. There, you should be able to record lectures, presentations and webinars yourself or with support. When the function is fully expanded with both studio and recording rooms, I see that the skills required to deliver complete media productions are in place, optimal would be having multi-competences in the team. Will there be a studio?
— In Sundsvall we intend to use the former TV studio in J-huset. In Östersund, we are currently looking at suitable premises for the purpose, says Lasse.
Tell me a little about your background?
— I started my career on Örebro local TV as a TV photographer -96. Has since worked with TV and news production, music videos, advertising, info and feature films and more both nationally and internationally. I have also worked at Mid Sweden University as a technician and teacher, mainly in the journalism and image journalist programs where I taught TV/studio technology, news photo and video editing. For the past 17 years I have been working in my own production company and now I am starting this exciting journey to help build a new media production unit at Mid Sweden University, says Lasse.
