New way to log in for all staff
During the day of December 5, the login method for staff, to systems and functions at Mid Sweden University, will change from email address to username.
Login will now take place with username@miun.se, (for example karnil@miun.se or karnil2300@miun.se) instead of the usual e-mail address firstname.lastname@miun.se.
Difference between username and email address
All employees at Mid Sweden University have a username and an e-mail address. The username is normally made up of the first three letters of your first name and the first three letters of your last name (for example, Karl Nilsson becomes karnil). Variants may occur as the username must be unique for each employee. Staff employed from 2022 and later also have four digits in their username.
Email address will still be firstname.lastname@miun.se, but it will no longer be used for login.
Because Mid Sweden University is a member of SWAMID (Swedish Academic Identity Federation), we get secure login for researchers, teachers and students in various services - both in and outside of Sweden. The change is implemented to meet the security requirements of SWAMID.
