Anna Olofsson, Dean of the Faculty of Human Sciences, is proposed as the new Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Mid Sweden University from next year.

The term of office of the current Pro-Vice-Chancellors expires on 31 December 2023. The Vice-Chancellor proposes that in the coming years, Mid Sweden University should go back to having one single Pro-Vice-Chancellor, who is also the Vice-Chancellor’s deputy.

– Anna Olofsson’s experience and commitment makes her an excellent candidate for the position as Pro-Vice-Chancellor. As we now go back to having one single Pro-Vice-Chancellor, instead of two, she has clearly emerged as the obvious main candidate in the interviews that I have conducted with representatives of the unions, student unions and the faculty and administration management, says Vice-Chancellor Anders Fällström.

On 4 September, there will be a consultative assembly, as part of the process of appointing a new Pro-Vice-Chancellor, where it is the task of the consultative committee to submit comments and suggestions to the University Board regarding the Vice-Chancellor’s proposal for a new Pro-Vice-Chancellor.

The consultative committee consists of:

  • 18 teachers, two from each department
  • 10 staff representatives, one from each division of administration and one from each faculty office
  • 6 student representatives, 3 from each student union
  • 2 staff representatives, each staff organization appoints one person

The formal decision to appoint the Pro Vice-Chancellor will be taken by the University Board during their next meeting on 27 September.
