Open call: Autumn Salon 2026 – Creative canon

Mon 24 Aug 2026 11:46

There will be more exhibitions. After the appreciated exhibition in Ismagasinet during Mid Sweden University's anniversary week 2025, the Art Hub once again invites you to a joint salon in Sundsvall. Later, a spring salon in Östersund will also follow in 2027.

Sculpture of two hands

We welcome you who have an artistic practice and who are either employees at Mid Sweden University. Professional artists in the Sundsvall region are also warmly welcome to participate. The ambition is to create a meeting place for artistic expression, conversations and new collaborations between the university and the surrounding cultural life.

In connection with the exhibition, the Art Hub will also arrange lectures, workshops and other activities.

Creative canon as a theme

This year's theme is Creative Canon.

Cannon can mean explosive power – a directed energy that breaks new ground and changes the familiar. But canon is also a musical concept that deals with harmony, repetition and dialogue between different voices.

The theme therefore encompasses both what challenges and what unites, what breaks through and what creates context. How you choose to interpret the theme is entirely up to you.
