Volunteer at FISU World Forum
For the FISU World Forum in Östersund, August 2026, we are looking for volunteers. During the period 22–29 August, you will have the opportunity to contribute to an international forum where student sports, leadership and health are in focus, while developing your own skills.
Do you want to meet people from all over the world and be part of creating an international gathering that exchanges ideas and best practices? The FISU World Form is happening the week of August 22 – 29, 2026 at Mid Sweden University’s Östersund campus. We are looking for volunteers who want to contribute to this international forum where student sports, leadership and health are in focus.
You work in a committed team with clear tasks. During your sessions, the university offers food but you are required to have your own accommodation during the week. After completing the assignment, you will receive a personal certificate that shows what tasks you have had and what skills you have developed.
As a volunteer at FISU World Forum, you will have a unique opportunity to combine practical work, networking and creating experiences while developing your own skills.
Volunteers work in a committed team with clear tasks. You can choose an area of work that matches your interests. There are five areas to choose from, see below.
This is what you get as a volunteer:
- Meritorious experience from an international event
- Free meals during your shifts
- A merit that strengthens your CV
- New friends and an international network
- A personal certificate after the work has been done
Areas of work
Participant service
This is perfect for those who are structured, like customer service and problem solving. You will assist participants at information booths, with transportation, meals and accommodation. Very good knowledge of English is needed.
Sports
For those who like sports and movement, we need volunteers to facilitate the many activities we have planned. Activities include morning activities to get the day going, a roundball tournament at Studentplan and biathlon at the ski stadium.
Culture and events
By working with Culture and events you create memorable experiences for the participants. Be a part of the opening and closing ceremonies, the international fair at Folkets Hus and the cultural evening event.
Media and communication
Are you creative and social media savvy? This team uses the Forum content, subject matter and experiences to build community, connect people and share Forum information.
Conference
Volunteers are needed to be hosts at the lectures and seminars happening throughout the week. If you enjoy structure, service and meeting new people, this is your work area.
Each area has a team leader who will be on hand to help and support you in your work before and during the week.
