The use of SEXual Identification Tool (SEXIT) at youth friendly clinics (YFC)
Many Swedish youth clinics use SEXIT to identify sexual risk-taking and experiences of violence, aiming to reach young people early with support. Yet little is known about staff experiences of using SEXIT and the key barriers and benefits.
This project seeks to gain deeper insight into the advantages and challenges of the tool, with the overall aim of strengthening and further developing efforts to promote sexual health and freedom from violence in a region that has chosen to focus on quality improvement in this area.
This is a qualitative study in which we will conduct digital interviews with staff working at youth clinics – midwives, social workers, psychologists, and doctors. The aim is to deepen the understanding of the tool’s strengths and challenges, with the goal of developing and strengthening efforts to promote sexual health and freedom from violence in a region that has chosen to focus on quality improvement in this area.
