New students at Mid Sweden University need to activate their user identity to get access to the systems and IT services including the Student Portal, the learning platform and the campus wireless network. The Student Portal is an important tool in your studies where you register for your courses and exams, access information, education materials and more.
Exchange students and international students
Once admitted, you will receive information that you have to create and activate your Student Portal account. This information applies to students with a Swedish personal ID-number. Therefore most international students cannot activate their accounts immediately but will have to wait until the introduction days. During these days you will receive your own personal user ID and password to the Student Portal. Further instructions will also be given during the introduction days. Read more about registration.
Your log-in information for the student portal will be send to you via e-mail approximately one week before the semester starts.
Students with a Swedish personal identification number
If you have a Swedish personal identification number (format: yyyymmdd e.g. 198101201111) you can create your own user identity to the Student Portal directly after receiving admission. Read how to create your user identity
After you have activated your user identity and registered on your first course you can order your multifunction card (the MIUN Card) and you will also be able to reach the library data bases.
