AI Climate and Growth

The overall goal of the project is to strengthen the green and digital transformation of the region’s businesses with artificial intelligence to boost growth and develop sustainable products and services. An overall goal is also to future-proof companies by using the opportunities that artificial intelligence brings. 

In the short term, the project is expected to have resulted in increased competence in digitalisation through artificial intelligence among participating companies in Västernorrland and Jämtland. The project is also expected to lead in the short term to strengthen the regions’ position as a leader in new technology and artificial intelligence. 

In the long term, the project is expected to have a positive impact on the region’s development as the project strengthens research and development skills in the region’s artificial intelligence companies. This means that there are market conditions for the new products that will be the result of the project and that additional products can be developed in the area. The improved communication infrastructure, which makes it easier and safer for businesses to develop and commercialise artificial intelligence-based products and services in the longer term. This will be very important for the region’s future competitiveness. 

Another result in the longer term is that the knowledge being developed will enable further digitisation of the region’s SMEs, which is crucial for the region’s growth, which is expected to be largely driven by smaller companies. Using artificial intelligence in your business is a way of future-proofing the business, leading to more jobs and increased green growth. 

The project will also contribute to new collaborations between the region’s companies, research institutions and public organisations, which will contribute to the development of the important ICT area for the region. The collaborations and networks established as part of the project create good conditions for continued increased research and development in the area.
