International trainee programme

Recruitment of foreign people IT skills can be a way to solve the skills shortage in the region. Mid Sweden University will therefore, together with Bron Innovation, develop a model for an international trainee program.

A feasibility study will develop a concept for a trainee program where the companies in Västernorrland and Jämtland have the opportunity to hire a foreign-born person with cutting-edge expertise in IT.

The idea is that the trainee program will also include courses at Mid Sweden University and social activities as well as language courses in Swedish, to facilitate the transition to a Swedish working life.

The background to the initiative is the skills shortage that exists in the IT sector and which risks limiting growth in the regions. Recruitment of foreign workers can be an important piece of the puzzle to be able to meet the great need.

In a series of workshops during the spring, the companies' needs will be collected, and the concept developed and evaluated.
