Feasibility study on collaboration on construction and housing for the elderly
This feasibility study aims to create a strategic collaboration network between public and private actors to develop methods for collaboration on construction and housing for the elderly.
Background
The focus of the feasibility study is on co-located housing solutions with different forms of tenure that can meet varying support needs and provide economic, environmental and social benefits.
Participating actors are the Centre for Research on Economic Relations at Mid Sweden University, Sundsvall Municipality, Drakfastigheter, Mitthem, HSB Södra Norrland and the pensioners' associations PRO and SPF.
The project will also test the business model developed in the HaBä project and develop proposals for target group-adapted housing solutions, which has been requested in previous projects and in light of the lack of an accepted standard for sheltered housing. In addition, it includes establishing research collaborations with national and international universities, such as KTH, to enable continued research on sustainable housing for the elderly.
Expected goals and results
The project will establish a strategic cooperation network and develop methodology for collaboration on construction and housing for the elderly. It will also develop proposals for sustainable housing solutions based on a survey study, as well as evaluate both the collaboration process and the business model developed in the HaBä project.
Deliveries
Deliverables include a further developed collaboration model, two research publications, four analysis seminars, a short report and presentation materials for continued business development. In addition, research collaborations will be established and new research funding will be applied for.
