Digital Banking and Finance
Digital banking and finance focuses on the transformation of financial services in the digital era, with particular attention on the emerging technologies that reshape these services, and the interplay between financial institutions, public authorities, businesses, and individual users.
The research area explores in what ways emerging technologies are regulated, developed, adopted and trusted in different economic and institutional contexts.
The overall aim is to analyse i) the influence of digital financial technologies on modern financial systems with a particular focus on design, governance and implementation, and ii) the main challenges that may limit the wider adoption of digital financial services.
While the research area is primarily focused on Sweden and the Nordic region, it adopts a strong international perspective through research collaborations in the Europe, Middle East, North Africa, North America and Southeast Asia.
