Students' health and learning in compulsory school for pupils with intellectual disabilities and student health teams
Children and young people with intellectual disabilities are a vulnerable group and do not have the same preconditions for learning as other children. This can lead to physical, mental, social ill-health, exclusion in school and in society which creates problems with learning.
The overall purpose of the project is to investigate, describe and identify improvements and development opportunities with a focus on promotion, prevention, and remedial work in the compulsory school for pupils with intellectual disabilities. Target group is students in grades 7-9, and participants from local and central student health teams at the compulsory school for pupils with intellectual disabilities.
The school and student health teams in the special school are important resources for strengthening and promoting students' school situation, health, well-being, and learning, as well as counteracting ill health and exclusion.
