ALGCC is carried through within the Impact Innovations program Swedish Metals and Minerals, a joint initiative of the Swedish Energy Agency, Formas and Vinnova.
Materials processing translates materials science into engineered functionality by modifying, shaping and structuring materials through advanced processing routes that tailor composition, microstructure and interfaces across length scales.
The Materials Processes group develops advanced processing technologies across multiple length scales, from nanoscale material synthesis to large-scale industrial manufacturing. Research includes laser-based nanoparticle synthesis, advanced laser materials processing, additive manufacturing and large-scale roll-to-roll coating technologies. The focus is on precise process control to tailor microstructure, interfaces, and functional performance, enabling scalable and industrially viable solutions for energy, photonics, and advanced materials applications.
