Time for union work
Union activities that fall under the law are such that are carried out by unions when they represent their members in relations with their employer.
The extent of the time off from work and how it should be taken is agreed between the employer and the local trade union organisation.
Union activities that fall under the law are such that are carried out by unions when they represent their members in relations with their employer. Such assignments are negotiations with the employer regarding salaries and terms of employment, providing information or consultation services to members about their rights and obligations according to the law and signed agreements.
When an individual needs to be free for union work at the union representative's own place of employment, salary benefits are retained; that is, salary will continue to be paid.
According to the Villkorsavtalet agreement, the employer may allow a union representative to be free from work whilst retaining salary for a maximum of 10 working days for union work beyond what is set out by law.
