The administration takes the next step in the development work

In the future, the administration will prioritize support around the employment of staff, reception of students, learning platform and digital workplace, procurement, security and scheduling.

– Regarding the learning platform, we will upgrade Moodle or switch to Canvas, where a decision will be made already this autumn. To increase support regarding the employment of personnel, we are adding an extra year-round resource to the Division of Human Resources, and we will increase cooperation with the chancelleries, says Ludde Edgren, deputy Head of administration.

The administration has analyzed all the material collected from the departmental dialogues, the questionnaires to students and about employees' conditions, as well as the internal audit report on the assignment as Head of department.

– There are many things to improve and based on the extensive data we have obtained, we in the administration's management team have chosen to prioritize these main areas at an overall level. There is a common ambition to constantly get better at what we do and with this development work we want to take bigger steps forward, says Ludde Edgren.

Several measures have been initiated, it concerns both working methods and a prioritization of internal resources, including the utilization of premises. The administration will not increase in total for operational support, and long-term budget planning for the entire administration is now starting to meet the needs for support that exist. The university library has also been commissioned to investigate and, if so, in what way costs linked to library operations can be reduced.

– For us, it is important to act on the feedback that is given. At the same time, we must learn from the positive reviews we receive for the support provided by the caretakers, legal office, the finance department, archive and registration office. The way the staff treats students at the library and Service Center is also valued, says Ludde Edgren.

A consultant has analyzed the material from institutional dialogues and had in-depth interviews with managers within the administration. The report includes proposals for a model for prioritization and long-term business planning.
