We are all parts of each other's work and study environment, and are influenced by those around us, both fellow students and teachers. As a student, you are also included under the work environment legislation and the work environment ordinance, just like employees do.
Mid Sweden University has an obligation to help ensure that you have the conditions to carry out your studies, both from a physical and mental perspective. For example, Mid Sweden University's ambition is to:
- Work for health and well-being for all in physical, mental and social terms.
- The work and studies should provide job satisfaction, community and development in an organisation that is characterised by respect for each other.
- Prevent ill health and accidents and actively work with preventive and rehabilitative measures to reduce the risk of work-related sick leave.
But you as a student also have a responsibility to contribute to a good work and study environment. For instance:
- Students at Mid Sweden University should be knowledgeable about the risks in the operations and the necessary protective measures. Everyone should contribute to creating a good work environment and promote a healthy workplace.
- Students must work to ensure that victimisation does not occur in the workplace.
- All students must demonstrate personal responsibility for health and the environment in their daily work. It is the responsibility of everyone not only to follow instructions and routines, but also to be aware of and immediately report to the respective manager/safety representative/teacher any risks, incidents and threats to a good work environment.
If you experience shortcomings in the study environment, you should contact the student safety representative at the student union.
If you experience shortcomings in the education or conflicts with classmates or teachers, talk to the teacher, course or programme coordinator.
If you have incidents, accidents or violations, report it to the IA system at MIUN.
