Internships are often part of the curriculum at Mid Sweden University. It may even be possible to place the internship abroad. For certain subjects you may also be able to do your degree project abroad.

If you plan to do your internship or degree project in an EU / EEA country for at least 60 days, you may be eligable to apply for the Erasmus+ traineeship grant!

Erasmus+ supports traineeships abroad for students currently enrolled in higher education institutions in EU/EES countries at Bachelor and Master level as well as for doctoral candidates. Erasmus+ is an exchange programme that gives you the chance to go on a placement at a company or organisation in another European country. You receive a grant for a traineeship of two to twelve months.

By doing a traineeship abroad with Erasmus+, you can improve not only your communication, language and inter-cultural skills, but also soft skills highly valued by future employers, as well as become more entrepreneurial.

Different ways to take part in an Erasmus+ traineeship:

1. Within the framework of an internship course/thesis at Mid Sweden University
You are registered at Mid Sweden University and will be examined here but you conduct the internship/data collection at a university, organisation or company in Europe.

2. As a voluntary internship outside your regular study programme at Mid Sweden University
This alternative is a non-credit internship and the department needs to approve the internship and confirm its academic connection. You will not get credit for this type of internship but you can ask the Degree Office at Miun to include it in your Diploma Supplement.

3. Recent Graduate: You can also go for a traineeship abroad as a recent graduate
In this case, your traineeship must occur within one year of your graduation and you must apply while still being enrolled as a fulltime student at Mid Sweden University. You must complete the intership period within a 12 month period when you completed your studies. Example: Student graduates on 7 June 2020 (date on diploma) -> applies for an Erasmus traineeship grant before this date -> completes and finalises the internship period before 7 June 2021.
