Being a leader in school .age‑educare centres ; Leadership is explored through action research
This study connects theory, practice and reflection regarding after-school teachers' leadership in play. By using action research as a method, practitioners can receive support in their professional development in their own business and structure development work based on the needs of the business.
This study answers several challenges and issues that School-age-educare teachers (SAECT) face in connection with their mission. SAECT's leadership in play can be developed, with the aim of supporting the students' development and learning. Research that is particularly relevant to the profession.
The aim is to contribute to the development of scientifically anchored leadership in and about play in the SAEC. Specifically, the project's goals are:
(1) to explore and depict how SAECTact as leaders in play activities;
(2) to explore in partnership SAECT's leadership in different play practices based on different positions;
(3) to contribute through collaboration to the development of play-responsive didactics;
(4) to contribute to relevant knowledge and skills for participating teachers and researchers regarding SAECT's leadership based on the project's purpose.
The project's will contribute to practical research that is based on the stated needs of the business and which is operationally oriented towards SAECT's professional development and also the students' learning in the SAEC. It fills both a research gap because it directs the spotlight on an as yet unexplored area, namely SAECT's leadership in the play.
