Housing, integration, and labor
A comparison of Sweden's larger cities shows that, in segregated housing areas, income levels are lower and health risks for the residents are higher. Where you live also proves to be of great importance for your success in the labor market.
The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze existing integration processes in the Tallnäs residential area in Timrå municipality. The residential area is characterized by its diverse tenants but also challenges such as social and socio-economic problems.
The objectives of the project are to:
1. Develop a general approach to integration processes and sustainable living on the basis of economic, ecological, social and cultural starting points.
2. Develop innovative ways of providing sustainable skills by taking advantage of the untapped skills of foreign-born and others who are outside the labor market.
3. Create arenas to increase knowledge about integration processes, sustainable living and sustainable skills provision.
