Sweden is on fire

The project "Sweden is on fire: A study of volunteer efforts and the local population's emergency preparedness during the forest fires in the summer of 2018" studies how different types of volunteers, as well as residents in fire-affected areas, experienced and managed the forest fires in 2018.

This project focuses on the crisis management that took place outside of the official rescue organizations – the unofficial, or unrecognized, crisis management. The hope is that the gained knowledge can be used to strengthen authorities' communication with citizens and help integrate volunteers in future crisis situations.
