Gnista‑ Technology for Curious Children
The project Gnista – Technology for Curious Children aims to spark interest in technology and, in the longer term, in technical education.
The project aims to increase children’s and young people’s interest in technology and technical education in rural areas, with a particular focus on gender equality and inclusion. Through technology-promoting maker activities in after-school programs, developed using participatory design, the project seeks to reduce barriers to engagement with technology and strengthen the transition to higher education.
The project is strategically important for Mid Sweden University, the region, and society in order to meet future demands for technical competence.
The project is carried out in collaboration with schools in the municipality of Sollefteå (Rödsta and Prästbordet).
