HIPS ‑ Sustainable Innovations and Products in Forest Bioeconomy
The main goal for this project is to strengthen the development and innovation capacity of small and medium-sized forest companies and networks. The project also aims to promote sustainable initiatives and enhance the region’s international expertise in wood, fibre and cellulose.
Forests are not just trees; they also represent the potential for a more sustainable society. Our region is a hotbed within the bioeconomy domain, with many major players driving progress forward. Yet, there are also small and medium-sized enterprises, high up in the value chain, just waiting to unlock their full potential.
These companies have an exciting journey ahead, but they need more than just dreams. They require knowledge, networks, and collaboration with researchers to strengthen their ability to innovate and remain competitive. Together, they can foster growth that is not only economic but also sustainable for our planet.
But it doesn't stop there. We also aim to sow the seeds of entrepreneurship and assist new businesses in thriving within the bioeconomy sphere. We believe in the opportunities this natural resource offers, and we want to see more women and diverse talents joining this exciting bioeconomic adventure. We believe in diversity, and we believe each new participant will make our journey even richer and more rewarding. So, join us as we explore the treasures of the forest and create a better and more sustainable future.
The project's short-term goals
