Leaving an Honour Context – A Knowledge Review of Information, Support, and Protection Needs

The commission consists of two stages; initially, the current state of knowledge in both research and grey literature will be examined to establish what is already known about the information, support, and protection needs of individuals wishing to leave relationships involving honour-based violence or oppression. At the end of this stage, existing knowledge will be synthesised and knowledge gaps identified. In the second stage, the qualitative study will be conducted; its design cannot be further defined at present, as it depends on the findings from stage one of the study. However, interviews will be carried out with individuals who have experience of receiving support and assistance from various authorities in connection with honour-based violence and oppression. The study's design will be developed in collaboration with a researcher at the National Board of Health and Welfare to ensure that the approach best fulfils the government commission.
