Register sickness notification and notification of recovery
Register your sickness absence
To report a sickness absence, call or e-mail Mid Sweden University’s Service Center at 010-142 80 00, option 4 or sjukanmalan@miun.se.
Your first day will then be registered in Primula and notified to your head of department.
Reporting a sickness absence yourself:
- Go to the menu option under My page and click Sick leave.
- Enter the first date (From) for your sickness absence; leave the Until date blank, fill in the extent (as a percentage).
If the first sick day is not a full working day, fill in the same date in the From–Until fields and enter the extent (as a percentage) corresponding to the first day’s absence.
Click Add and fill in the second day of sickness absence in From; Leave the Until date blank, fill in the extent (as a percentage).
Click Add.
If you report your sickness absence afterwards, enter the From - Until dates of your sickness absence and the extent (as a percentage).
- Click Submit.
Register recovery notification
You only submit a recovery notification once you are fully back to work and working your regular working hours (as a percent of full time work). For instructions regarding changing the percentage of sick leave, see below.
- Go to Sick leave in the menu under My page.
- Fill in the field Until (the date you have return to work).

Changing the percentage of sick leave
If you go on long-term sick leave, you cannot make any changes to the percentage of sick leave yourself.
Contact your head of department and inform him or her regarding the extent of sick leave going forward. Your head of department is responsible for notifying the HR department (primula@miun.se) when there are changes in the extent/percentage of sick leave, and the HR department then reports the change to the State Service Center for any needed salary adjustments.
Registering additional short-term sick leave during ongoing part-time sick leave
Additional short-term sick leave refers to a milder illness that is not related to the original sick leave, for example, a cold.
If you already have an ongoing part-time sick leave and take an additional short-term sick leave (sick less than eight days), the sickness period is registered in the payroll system when you return to work from your shorter sickness absence.
- Go to Sick leave under My page.
- To register a new, additional sickness period, click on the + (plus) sign.
A new window will open for registering a new sickness period.
- Fill in the From –Until dates and extent for the additional sick period.
- Click Submit.
