Heads of departments in NMT Faculty
At the turn of the year, an organizational change was carried out at the Faculty of Science, Technology and Media. As of January 1, 2023, the employees are organized into four new departments, which replace the previous ten departments.
During the first half of 2023 they have been managed by interim management groups at each institution. New heads of departments must be appointed from 1 July 2023. The decisions have now been announced for the new heads of departments for the next four years, i.e. the time period 01-07-2023 – 30-06-2027 for DET, IMD and NDH.
The proposals for heads of departments have been suggested by separate reference groups at the different departments. They have anchored the proposals with the employees and LSG at the institutions. Dialogue has been held with the Vice-Chancellor and he has been involved in the decisions for the heads of departments.
Decision for the Department of Communication, Quality technology and Information systems, will come shortly.
Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering, DET
At the department, education is conducted in the subjects of computer engineering, electronics, electrical engineering and sound production. The research at the department takes place at the research center STC and deals with sensor-based systems and services for use within the Internet of Things.

Department of Engineering, Mathematics and Science Education, IMD
We conduct research and education in physics, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, mathematics, industrial design engineering and didactics in mathematics and science education. We offer unique and world-leading research within the FSCN Research Centre and Sports Tech Research Centre.

Department of Natural Sciences, Design and Sustainable Development, NDH
The department is located on both Campus Östersund and Campus Sundsvall, where we educate and conduct research within the department's subjects with a focus on sustainable development.
