Sports Tech Research Centre is a multidisciplinary research centre with a focus on applied science within the field of sports and product development. The centre works closely with partners in different fields, from hospitals and outdoor manufacturers to international engineering industries.
The research of the centre is primarily within innovative development of and verification of products, material, technology and methods in the field of sports and outdoor activities, but also in rehabilitation support and equipment for the special needs of the disabled.
Another part of the centre’s activities is within the area of additive manufacturing (3D printing), in areas such as medical applications and material/process development.

When researcher Lars-Erik Rännar from Sports Tech Research Centre travelled to India at the end of February, it wasn't just about presenting research. Exchange student Gaia Stanco has investigated how mass starts in para cross-country skiing can be planned more efficiently. The work is being carried out as a master’s thesis in close collaboration with Sports Tech Research Centre.

Research engineer Magnus Ahnesjö was recently on a staff exchange at Hochschule Offenburg in Germany. The university is part of the Challenge EU collaboration and has a biomechanical laboratory with a clear connection to the activities of Sports Tech Research Centre, where he usually works.
