How do schools promote safety and crisis preparedness? A pilot study of a highschool in Jämtland
There is much information on how schools ought to work with safety and crisis preparedness matters, but little knowledge as to how this is done in practice, as well as what difficulties there are in this work.
In light of this knowledge-gap we will investigate how one Swedish upper secondary school works to increase safety and crisis preparedness.
The project will be conducted in the form of a case study, collaborating with Jämtlands Gymnasium Wargentin to examine how they address security and crisis preparedness, focusing on the identification of problems and challenges, as well as potential development. Since it is up to each individual school authority to determine how the work on security and crisis preparedness within the school should be organized, the project will be carried out in collaboration with individuals at both the school authority level and unit level. This is to, among other things, map the relationships between organizational levels in security and crisis preparedness matters.
