Reading engagement in the School age Educare Center
The project is a collaboration between MIUN and Brännaskolan in Härnösand municipality within the framework of the Collaboration Agreement and the program Future Welfare: Care and School.
The overall aim of the project is to inspire and support the school-age educare pupils to develop into language and reading individuals with a genuine desire to read. Through their own chosen actions, the staff test different methods and approaches (e.g. multimodal approaches such as drama and art) to engage students in reading and processing books.
Our research interest is to use an action research project to investigate the relationship between schoolwork and leisure-time centre activities, and how to reading and writing can be implemented and developed in the Schoolage Educare Center in a pleasurable way.
