Book academic information literacy sessions for your students
In the Higher Education Act, it is prescribed that students during basic education "must develop the ability to seek and evaluate knowledge at a scientific level" (SFS 1992:1434, ch. 1, § 8).
The university library offers sessions in information searching and reference management at both basic and advanced levels. You as a teacher can, together with the teaching librarian, tailor a teaching opportunity for your students. We work both with individual courses and with progression plans for programmes where teaching information searching and reference management is a recurring feature.
Keep in mind that the students should have a task that includes information searching or reference management in connection with the library session. This makes the session feel more relevant to the students. Depending on the content and the level the students are at, a session usually takes around 2-3 hours. The session often includes various workshop elements where the students can work on their own tasks.
Elements we can offer in information literacy education sessions:
Library introduction, which includes the library's website and service, searching in Miun Discovery, etc.

In-depth searches in databases
