Academic life has changed hugely over the last 50 years, particularly in science and technology. The changes have not just been technical. Political, economic, international and social pressures have forced universities and academics to change almost beyond recognition. Daniel Crookes has had a career spanning nearly 50 years in the academic world. In this lecture, Daniel will highlight some of the key changes he has observed from his own experience, and will pass on some lessons which might help aspiring academics to face the next 50 years.
