Bakgrund
I am a doctoral student in Tourism studies. Before I started my PhD program here in Mid-Sweden, I have worked in hospitality for ten years in the role of a sommelier and briefly a guide. A good part of my work experience comes from two cruise companies.
I have a Bachelor and Magister in Sociology (Kyiv National Aviation university in Ukraine, my home country) and a Master in Service Management in Tourism (Lund University, Sweden).
I have traveled extensively for work and education and have lived for longer periods in Italy, Sweden and the USA. I hold a WSET award, level three, in wines and spirits.
Forskningsområden

~ agency: tourism workers
~ theoretical field: embodiment and senses
Forskning
My PhD project is titled ‘Tourism knowledge in-the-making: from lay people to experts.’
I am keen to study how tourism practitioners of varying competences and skills, including ordinary people whose lives are embedded in tourism, create knowledge-in-practice.
My fieldwork is planned with locals and practitioners in a variety of tourism contexts.
