A summer job with a small hotel on the Eastern side of Greenland some 16 years ago sparked my interest in the implications of climate change on tourism. I find it fascinating to examine how people see the world and how tourism or being a tourist come into play when it comes down to perceiving concrete impacts of climate change and responding to these.

As part of my thesis, I am currently looking at tourism and climate change knowledge processes, and implications of landscape changes for local stakeholder response patterns at the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula in North-Eastern Germany.
