Hosea Imbo Agure is a new PhD student within the IRS TransTech Research School. His research combines signal processing, mathematical optimization and machine learning to develop more efficient and reliable methods for computational imaging.

Yi-Hsin Li has been awarded the Bureanska Foundation Scientific Award 2026 for her research on efficient and scalable representations for image-based data. The award of 20 000 SEK will be presented at Mid Sweden University’s Academic Ceremony this autumn.

Rayen Selmi is a PhD-student at Mid Sweden University and part of the IRS TransTech initiative. His research focuses on developing efficient and compact power converters for future energy systems, in collaboration with ENIT in Tunisia and Powerbox AB.

The first cohort of students in Mid Sweden University’s Visual AI initiative has now completed their Master’s theses. Six of the eight students have already secured jobs, several of them at companies they collaborated with during their studies.
