Fine Dust Measurement FDM
Knowledge about the status of the air quality, lead to knowledge about uncomfortable or dangerous situations regarding the concentration of smoke, oxygen, loudness or other influences. To watch limits and react if neccesary is a contribution for a sustainable development of lifestyle.
Whats the project about
The topic “Fine Dust Measurement” is splitted into two parts:
Part 1: Creation of a Movie depending from the measurements. The aim is to produce a demonstration movie, where we can see the dependence of the particle concentration from different locations and influences, e.g. pub, smoker, Street and so on. The students should come from a media-background with the ability to produce movies with no professional equipment (they use only mobile phones, private camera and so on) and Students from environmental background to find or create sources for fine dust.
Part 2: Further development of the measurement device. The aim is the creation and optimization of a Artificial Neural Network with TensorFlow and the implementation into the software of the device. The measurement rows for teaching of the Neural Network, we will bring with us. The students should come from fields like computer sciences, informatics, electrical engineering and so on.
Study Areas
In this project, we would like to serve two fields:
Part 1: Experience in the creation of a demonstration movie, to show the connection between the exhaust of fine dust from sources and the increase of the measurement values. Fundamentals in environmental and/or social science would be perfect for determinations of locations.
Part 2: Knowledge about Artificial Neural Networks, Software TensorFlow, python, html, application of raspberry Pi
Also students from additional subjects or interest:
Creativity, fantasy and happiness to work in an international team.
