Bakgrund

I’m an associate professor in tourism studies with a PhD in Business administration. I defended my thesis “E-marketing and customer perceived value in travel and tourism” in the School of Business, Economics and Law at Gothenburg University. My research focuses on digitalization in tourism from a marketing, destination management and consumer behavior perspective. I also do studies on popular culture tourism which is tourism induced by films, literature, music and other popular culture phenomena. In particular, I’m involved in research on fans that travel in association to a specific interest. I’m also interested in a variety of methodological approaches such as quantitative surveys and netnography. I have worked in and managed many research projects with a range of different funding sources. An important and interesting aspect of many of these is the extensive outreach activities. For instance, collaboration with partners outside academia and research communication beyond traditional reports. I teach on both the bachelor and master level as well as the PhD program, both on campus and in online courses. I supervise students and a handful of PhD students. Currently I’m the head of the tourism discipline on all teaching levels which means I’m responsible for the overall quality and development of the subject. During 2013-2015 I was also the director of the research center Etour.
