STC - Sensible Things that Communicate develops sensor-based systems and services for use within Internet of Things and AI. The research is conducted in the electronics and computer science with a focus on Industrial IoT, next-generation measurement systems and functional surfaces.

Through a collaboration between STC Research Centre and BlueGreen Farming AB, it is investigated how AI can be used to improve and streamline cultivation in stores. The project can pave the way for the sustainable and digitally monitored food production of the future.

From August to December, PhD student Mattia Manenti from University of Catania in Italy is visting Mid Sweden University and STC as part of his doctoral studies. When he soon returns to Italy, he will bring back lots of feedback, inspiration and new ideas.
